Created as a mechanical pencil in 1947 followed by the ballpoint pen version in 1953, Ecridor is a true Caran d’Ache classic. It is synonymous with elegance, sturdiness and reliability, the watchwords of the Swiss quality label. Recognisable at a glance, its hexagonal body has made it a true modern icon.
The streamlined, architectural style of the Ecridor collection recalls the elegance of the Art Deco period. This was a time when Caran d’Ache enjoyed its first great success stories and stamped the hexagonal shape firmly in its DNA, in particular with the bodies of its pencils and the legendary Fixpencil. From the very outset, Ecridor became the emblematic model from Caran d’Ache, ensuring the durability of its unique, timeless style.
The hexagonal body of the Ecridor pen allows the company’s master craftsmen to give free rein to their know-how in the field of precision engraving. Guilloched patterns bring the six faces of the collection’s writing instruments to life with bright gold- or palladium-plated glints. The patterns incorporate classic, urban, sporty or romantic sets of characters, not to mention a retro spirit or the more feminine models.
The Ecridor is available as a mechanical pencil, ballpoint pen, roller pen or fountain pen. Boasting a classic yet contemporary design, this writing instrument is designed from A to Z in the Caran d’Ache workshops in Geneva. It is fitted with the famous Goliath ink cartridge from Caran d’Ache which enables the user to write up to 600 A4 pages.
